Application Types: Zoning By-law Amendment (Z/07/2021) and Draft Plan of Subdivision (S-S-2021-02) Location: 15762 Old Simcoe Road and Blocks 196-197, Plan 40M-2250 (Ward 5) Applicant & Owner: 268499 Ontario Ltd Agent: S. Waterhouse, GHD Ltd. Current Land Use Designation: Residential Current Zoning: Future Development (FD) and Urban Residential Multiple Type Three (RM3)
Proposal:The applications propose to rezone the subject lands to Urban Residential Multiple Type Three (RM3) with site specific exceptions to facilitate a residential development that consists of 15 townhouse dwellings on a private condominium road and 1 single detached dwelling.
Status: Comments from internal departments and external agencies have been sent to the applicant to address in another submission. The Township continues to accept public comments before a recommendation report will be brought before Township Council. Applications for Site Plan approval and a Draft Plan of Condominium will also be required to be submitted in the future to move forward with the proposed development.
Public Meeting: A virtual public meeting was held on March 21, 2022 to provide interested parties the opportunity to learn more about the proposed applications and provide comments and questions. No decisions were made at this meeting. Interested residents can watch a video recording of the public meeting via the Council and Committee Meeting Calendar Page on the Township’s Website. Click on the Planning & Community Affairs Committee meeting on March 21, 2022 and select the Video option in the pop-up window.

Recommendation Report

Staff to consider comments from Council and Public to prepare a final Recommendation Report for Council's consideration. Date of the future Planning and Community Affairs Meeting is to be determined. Staff will prepare draft conditions of approval to forward to the Region of Durham for the Draft Plan of Subdivision Application. The Region of Durham is the approval authority for Draft Plans of Subdivision.
