The Council of the Township of Scugog has received an application to amend Zoning By-Law No. 14-14 from Clark Consulting Services on behalf of the property owners. The subject lands are municipally known as 10651 Old Scugog Road and shown on the map below:

Purpose and Effect of the Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment:

The purpose of the application is to re-zone the severed lot from “Oak Ridges Moraine – Agricultural Holding (ORM-AG(H))” to “Oak Ridges Moraine – Rural Residential (ORM-RR).” The retained lands are proposed to be re-zoned from “Oak Ridges Moraine – Agricultural (ORM-AG),” “Oak Ridges Moraine – Agricultural Holding (ORM-AG(H)),” and “Oak Ridges Moraine – Environmental Protection Holding (ORM-EP(H))” to a site-specific exception to prohibit future severances and the establishment of any new residential dwellings.

The rezoning is required as a condition of approval for the Consent Application (LD 04/2025) approved by the Township’s Committee of Adjustment on August 26, 2025, to sever the existing farm dwelling deemed surplus to the farming operation with frontage on Old Scugog Road.

Public Meeting:

The Council of the Township of Scugog will hold a Public Meeting to provide interested parties with the opportunity to learn more about the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment make comments and provide additional information relative to the proposed amendment before any decisions are made on the zoning application. This public meeting will be held on March 9, 2026, at 6:30 PM in Council Chambers located on the upper level at the Municipal Office at 181 Perry Street, Port Perry.

In Person: Use the rear entrance located between the original building and the south wing and take the elevator or stairs to the 2nd floor. Parking is available at the rear of the building.
