Second Access to Scugog Island

Class Environmental Assessment Addendum

The Township of Scugog has retained CIMA+ to prepare an addendum to the Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for proposed second access roads to Scugog Island. The original EA from 2007 and identified two road links to provide a second access to Scugog Island. The southern link connects from Highway 7A to Reader Road. The northern link connects from Ma Brown’s Road to Pine Point Road. The scope of work for the current project includes:

• Identifying and forecasting traffic volumes and flows
• Verifying and/or revising the preferred solution based on current conditions
• Preparing a detailed design for the new road sections
• Reviewing current road sections for any recommended improvements

The draft Class EA Addendum has been completed and will be presented to members of Scugog Council at the Planning and Community Affairs Meeting on December 11, 2023. Members of the public may request to speak to Council at the meeting regarding the draft study by completing a Delegation Request Form and submitting online by 4:30 pm on Tuesday December 5, 2023.
