Why is the splash pad being replaced?
Replacing the splash pad was identified through the Port Perry Waterfront Action Plan and the Township's Asset Management Plan.
Wasn't the splash pad just redone?
Ongoing repairs to the splash pad have been completed in the recent past to allow the splash pad to remain open and functional until it can be replaced.
Can a splash pad be installed in Caesarea instead?
There is not a Regional watermain in Caesarea that could supply a splash pad with water.
Is the water recycled?
For the existing splash pad, we switched to municipal water several years ago and the water is no longer recycled. The new system will use fresh water as well.
When is this Happening?
The splashpad construction will start after the Labour Day long weekend in 2024. A water service disruption is expected in August to install a new water service to the splashpad and new washroom building.
