Union Avenue Reconstruction

The reconstruction of Union Avenue between King Street and Josephine Street involves converting this road from a rural cross section to an urban cross section to match the existing section to the north. The work includes removal of the existing surface and granular, road widening to accommodate on road bike lanes, installation of storm sewers and sanitary sewer, curb and gutter, replacement of the existing sidewalk and installation of new sidewalk on the west side of the road.

During construction:

• no parking along Union Avenue (please use driveways)
• do not approach the construction crews as they are adhering to strict health and safety procedures
• access to businesses and dwellings will remain available
• localized detours and/or traffic delays will be in effect during the construction period
